I was encouraged by a few friends and family to take this time to start a blog for our growing little family. A quick introduction seems to be in order just in case you're not as familiar with us as you may think you are.
My husband and I are both elementary school teachers in northern California. We met at Sac State while attending the credential program. We started out working together and hanging out as friends, and although we tried to pretend that's all we were, it became quite obvious to all of those around us that there was definitely more than just friendship there. At the end of our program Matt proposed to me, and we were engaged! Within a matter of months we were engaged, graduating from our credential program, starting new teaching jobs, moving in to a house together, and getting married. Let's just say that the two of us have always set high goals for ourselves and we continued to do so for our family as well. A lot of people told us we were taking on too much in too little time, but with the help of our families and friends we did it all.
Now we're at another point in our lives that many people are saying once again is a lot for the two of us to take on. We started teaching in a new district at the beginning of the school year, bought a house in November, and just welcomed a beautiful baby boy into our family on March 4th. I guess when we do things, we do them big and bold. Welcome to our happy little family.
